Bookbinding: Coptic Binding

Description: Take your bookbinding skills to the next level. Coptic binding is a variety of open-spine binding in which the cover and text pages are held together with a series of exposed stitches. This technique is perfect for scrapbooks and albums, sketchbooks, or any other book because it lays flat when it is open. This workshop will focus on the coptic binding in different forms, and participants will be able to learn and experiment with this simple but impressive stitch using a variety of materials. No previous skills are required, however knowledge of basic bookbinding techniques will be helpful.
