Advanced Bookbinding Techniques

Cost: $50 ($40 members) + $10 materials fee
Description: This workshop will introduce multi-section binding, including working with cloth and leather. We’ll review forwarding techniques -- sewing, rounding and backing, endpapers, etc -- and the principles of finishing, including covering and decoration. Possibilities for creative extension of these basics will be introduced, such as decorative exposed sewing, hand-made end-bands, and leather in-lays and on-lays.

Bookbinding for Beginners or equivalent knowledge of bookbinding required.
